Terms of Service
These terms explain the contractual rules for using CISSP Guru, including account access, subscriptions, trials, billing, content usage, acceptable use, and legal limitations.
Effective date: April 19, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of CISSP Guru, including the website, study platform, lessons, question banks, adaptive exams, AI-assisted features, billing surfaces, and related services.
By accessing, starting a trial, creating an account, subscribing to, or using CISSP Guru, you agree to be bound by these terms and by the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
For now, CISSP Guru is described here as a product operated by Evan Lutz / BowTiedCyber. If a specific legal entity is later identified in the product, checkout flow, invoice records, or legal notices, that entity will become the operator covered by these terms.
You may use CISSP Guru only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement and are authorized to use the payment method and account credentials associated with your subscription.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when starting a trial, subscribing, or managing your account. You may not impersonate another person or create an account using information you are not authorized to use.
CISSP Guru is an educational study-preparation product. It is designed to help users learn, practice, and prepare for the CISSP exam, but it does not guarantee any exam result, certification outcome, employment result, or professional advancement.
CISSP Guru is not legal advice, professional security advice, career advice, or exam-administration advice. Any AI-generated explanation or recommendation is study support only and must be evaluated with your own judgment.
CISSP Guru is an independent product and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with ISC2 unless that relationship is expressly stated in writing.
CISSP Guru may offer a free trial, monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, upgrades, promotional offers, and plan changes. The pricing, trial length, renewal cadence, and promotional terms shown at checkout or in the billing area are part of your agreement with us.
If you start a free trial, you authorize CISSP Guru and its payment processor, Stripe, to place a payment method on file and to charge that payment method when the trial ends unless you cancel before the renewal date.
If you subscribe to a recurring plan, your subscription renews automatically at the applicable interval until you cancel. You authorize recurring charges in the amount and cadence disclosed at checkout or in the billing area.
If you accept an upgrade, downgrade, or special offer, your billing schedule, trial status, price, or renewal timing may change according to the terms shown when you accept that change. For example, an annual upgrade offered during a trial may end the trial immediately and bill the annual amount at once if that is the offer presented to you.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the billing area and Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund charges already incurred except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.
If a payment fails, is declined, is reversed, or becomes delinquent, CISSP Guru may limit, suspend, or revoke access until the billing issue is resolved.
We may continue to make limited account or billing access available so you can update payment details, review subscription status, or manage cancellation, but access to study features may be restricted while an account is unpaid, past due, or otherwise out of good standing.
We reserve the right to recover amounts owed, charge applicable taxes where required, and use service providers or lawful collection methods to address unpaid balances if necessary.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable once charged. A trial period, if offered, exists to let users evaluate the service before the first subscription charge occurs.
Discounts, coupons, promotional pricing, introductory offers, and special upgrade opportunities are subject to the terms presented with the offer and may be modified or discontinued at any time unless already accepted and completed.
If a refund is issued, we may also revoke or limit access associated with the refunded transaction or subscription.
Subject to these terms, CISSP Guru grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the service for your own personal, internal study and preparation.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, systematically extract, sell, sublicense, share, distribute, or create derivative commercial products from the service, its content, or its software except as expressly permitted in writing.
You may not bypass paywalls, rate limits, usage controls, or security protections; interfere with the platform; probe or test vulnerabilities without authorization; use automation to exfiltrate content; or use the service in any way that violates law or the rights of others.
You may not use CISSP Guru to train competing models, build competing question banks, reproduce substantial portions of the study materials, or republish AI-generated explanations or other content at scale.
Some CISSP Guru features use AI service providers to generate explanations, diagnosis, remediation prompts, or related study support. Those outputs may be incomplete, incorrect, or inconsistent and are provided as supplemental educational material only.
You remain responsible for how you interpret and use AI-assisted content. Do not rely on AI output as a substitute for your own review, official source materials, or professional judgment.
You may not use the service to submit unlawful content, malicious prompts, or sensitive information you are not authorized to disclose.
CISSP Guru, including its software, design, branding, layouts, lessons, explanations, audio, visuals, diagrams, databases, question selection logic, and other content, is protected by intellectual property and other proprietary rights.
Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of CISSP Guru or its content to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
If you submit feedback, ideas, suggestions, or product-improvement recommendations, you grant CISSP Guru a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
CISSP Guru is an evolving online service. We may add, remove, improve, replace, pause, or discontinue features, content, pricing structures, study workflows, AI providers, and supported integrations at any time.
We do not guarantee that any particular feature, question set, lesson format, or product workflow will remain available forever or operate without interruption.
We may release updates, maintenance changes, and fixes without notice, and some changes may affect prior study history, feature availability, or interface flows.
You may stop using the service at any time and may delete your account through the account-management area if that feature is available.
We may suspend, limit, or terminate access immediately if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, created abuse or security risk, engaged in fraud, failed to pay amounts due, infringed rights, or used the service in a way that could harm CISSP Guru, other users, or third parties.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including billing obligations, intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related provisions, survive termination of these terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CISSP Guru is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
We disclaim, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, uninterrupted availability, or that the service will be error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.
We do not warrant that the service will meet your expectations, result in exam success, remain continuously available, or function perfectly with every device, browser, network, or third-party service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CISSP Guru, Evan Lutz, BowTiedCyber, and their affiliates, service providers, licensors, and representatives will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, study progress, business opportunity, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of CISSP Guru and the related parties described above for any claim arising out of or relating to the service or these terms will not exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) or the amounts you paid to CISSP Guru for the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or liability limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CISSP Guru, Evan Lutz, BowTiedCyber, and their affiliates, contractors, service providers, and representatives from and against claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of any right of a third party.
We may revise these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
Your continued use of the service after revised terms become effective means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you must stop using the service and cancel your subscription before the next renewal if applicable.
Until a dedicated legal notice address is separately published, notices related to CISSP Guru should be sent through the contact channel identified in the product, billing communications, or account-related service notices.
Questions about privacy practices should also be reviewed alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains what information is collected, how it is used, and what choices may be available to users.
